Wilmington’s Coolest Marketer

Hi and thanks for searching for Wilmington’s Coolest Marketer! This is just a fun and simple idea I had to demonstrate basic search engine optimization.

You’ll notice the term “wilmington’s coolest marketer” in the title tag of this page in my H1 (header tag) and in the content. There, you’ve just had your first lesson in SEO. That’s not so bad huh?

Well, for a term with 0 competition, because ahem, I am the coolest marketer in Wilmington. ;o) Actually the competition I’m talking about here is the competition for my chosen keyword “wilmington’s coolest marketer”.

If you do the search in quotes, which limits the search to that exact phrase, you’ll see that I literally have no competition. So to rank for this phrase is easy.

Now, when you have thousands of websites competing for your chosen keywords it gets a little more tricky. Check out my page on Search Engine Optimization to learn more about how to get your website to rank.

This idea is also going to be my “test company” where I test and demonstrate different marketing strategies.  This should be especially helpful for local businesses since I’ll be targeting all of my marketing efforts to the Wilmington, NC area.

Wilmington’s Coolest Marketer will be my little demonstration in dominating local search!  This should be all kinds of fun! :)
